.078 Gregor Kelsey
Making new friends as an adult can be tough, which is why when I met Gregor almost three years ago, I knew to hold on tightly. Aside from his obvious charm and charisma, Gregor is quick to make you feel cared for and listened to because of his genuinely sweet nature. We met through our soccer league where he’s a formidable opponent to play against. He’s trustworthy and smart, competitive and kind, altogether making the best kind of teammate if you’re lucky enough to snag him.
Outside of the soccer field, Gregor is one of the most loyal friends I’ve had the pleasure of having in my life. His intelligence is matched only by his deep passion for helping and educating others, most notably through his admirable career as a teacher, which, if you know Gregor, he clearly is incredible at. He’s upbeat and goofy, relatable and compassionate. He has a wonderful perspective to share which makes every conversation with him one that is thoughtful, insightful and generally just a good time. Gregor is so much fun to be around, whether it be while trekking around Chicago during a tournament or out on the town here in NYC. When he walks in a room, I feel a true sense of comfort knowing he’s there and that he’s someone I trust and connect with so easily.
Gregor, thank you so much for being such a wonderful friend. Thank you for being so level-headed, calm and strong with your actions and morals. Thank you for always knowing how to make me laugh and for being a part of so many of my favorite moments here in NYC. Thank you for being so kind, always, and for never failing to stand up for what’s right. Thank you also for being such a wonderful partner to Chet - it’s so lovely to see your love for each other and it’s infectious to be around. I’m so grateful for our friendship and of course for the next time we see each other, perhaps in Philly! Thank you, Gregor, for being you.
