.096 Miranda Greenberg

I’m not exactly sure how I got so lucky in life to have not just one sister, but two. Miranda has been my (actual) sister’s best friend since before I could complete sentences and because of that, Miranda has been a constant support system, source of joy, and extension of our family for, well, forever. I have countless memories of Miranda (20+ years can do that), and yet the common denominator of them all is her kindness. Her seemingly effortless ability to treat me and everyone in her life with unconditional kindness and deep respect. As I said, I’m pretty damn lucky to have her in my life.

When I think about Miranda, so many things bubble up. There’s her incredible mind and intelligence. There’s her wonderful dedication to growing each and every day in her life and to always seek out an adventure. There’s her massive heart, her sweet personality, and her attention and willingness to savor all of the small details in life. Whenever I am around her, life feels better. She’s funny, witty, and has a ridiculously contagious laugh. Her beauty on the outside is because of her internal beauty shining through. She’s genuinely just a true hoot to spend time. If she’s not in the room making you laugh or telling a wonderful story, it’s probably because she’s cooking up a delicious multi-course meal that you’re going to remember (and miss!) for the next few months. To put it simply, the world is a more compassionate place because of Miranda’s existence. She is the textbook definition of loyalty, trustworthy, and friend. When you think of those in your life that embody a ray of sunshine, it’s her.

Miranda, thank you, oh so much, for being such an important role model, friend and pseudo-sister in my life. Thank you for always standing by my sister’s side through every single up and down; it’s inspired me from the sidelines every time. Thank you for your fantastic fear of fish and for your incredible lifestyle change toward eating and cooking, something that I think about every time I try something new. Thank you for always loving and supporting my family as a whole, and thank you for allowing me and my family into your life. Thank you for being so dignified in your ambition and for living every day to the fullest. I am so grateful to have you in my life, and as we discussed, I’m even more appreciative of our fully-realized friendship over the past few years. Thank you for the killer tunes on the drive to Palm Springs and for reminding me what it means to be a good human being. I love and adore you and always will. Thank you, Miranda, for being you.
