.100 Quanishia Mosley
The very first person I spoke with before I even started my role at The Met was Quanishia. She (quite literally) recruited me, but more than that, she treated me like a human being and not just another number or applicant. She listened with intent and asked me questions on a broad range of topics, showing her true care about getting to know me as a person and potential colleague. To say that she is good at her job is understatement — she’s phenomenal at seeking out candidates and does so with her deep empathy, compassion and unrelenting care and diligence toward treating everyone with respect.
When I finally arrived at The Met, seeing Quanishia around the building was such a highlight. If I ever saw her walk through the 81st Street entrance or in the HR area, she always brought a smile to my face and such a warm and joyful energy to the moment. She has one of the most infectious smiles and she seems to greet everyday with it. As a colleague, she was so incredibly helpful, patient and effective. Ask anyone about her and they’ll tell you great things while complimenting her contagious kind presence. I don’t know her too well outside of work, but what I will say is if Quanishia’s courageous, intelligent and brave self at work is any inkling as to how she is in her personal life, then her daughter is a truly lucky person to have such an inspiring role model for a mother. Quanishia often reminds me of what it means to be good and decent, and for that I am so grateful.
Quanishia, thank you so much for being such a radiant and powerful woman who I look up to in many ways. Thank you for always leading with kindness and doing the incredible work that you do, all day and everyday. Thank you for your patience and willingness to help, even in situations that may be tough and unfair. Thank you for inspiring so many of us by just existing and being yourself. Thank you for always reminding me of the good in the world and for being the human form of a breath of fresh air. I’m so grateful to have crossed paths with you, and of course, grateful beyond belief for believing in me and helping me move onward on the journey to getting my job! I’m grateful to know you and the world is a better place with you in it. Thank you, Quanishia, for being you.
