.024 David Rosenberg
David and I crossed paths at TED for not even a year, yet he stands out to me as an honest, intelligent and fabulously fun colleague to have been around and friend to have through life. David was always such a strong voice of reason and someone you always wanted in the room. His perspective is something I value immensely and I am sure those who still work with him today feel the same way. As a writer, he has such a beautiful way with words and storytelling that I feel perfectly conveys information, tone and depth. On top of this, he’s absolutely hilarious and can always make me laugh.
David is generally someone who just makes you feel normal, welcome and seen. He listens to you and cares about your experience, and he can help guide you through any type of situation you might be going through. When we were roommates at a TED conference, I remember him assuring me through any nervousness or imposter syndrome I was going through, while also tolerating my insane stories and quips, sometimes too late into the night and before a big day ahead.
David, thank you for being such a wonderful guy who I respect and value deeply. Thank you for our conversations at Julius, at TED, and beyond that have helped me since, and often make me chuckle. Thank you for being so easygoing and for having such a contagious energy that folks want to be around. I’m so grateful to have worked with you, and I’m even more grateful to have you in my life beyond my time at TED and to still be able to pick up the phone so easily and catch up. Thank you for being a genuinely kind friend and thank you for being you.
