.045 Grace Perks

It’s quite literally her name. Grace. Gracious and graceful, she has always been such a force of both creative energy and kindness. We met when she joined the TEDx team, adding her own brain power, intellect and beautiful perspective to a wonderful team that appreciated her presence and ideas. Grace quickly asserted herself in my mind as such an important and valuable member of the team, and more than that, a sweet soul whose friendship I hold dear, which I know so many others do as well.

As I mentioned to Grace over the phone, she has this innate coolness about her, living her life with a refreshing sense of independence mixed with a deep connection to her friends. She’s grounded and sturdy in her beliefs, making every conversation with her rich, fun and stimulating. She is also incredibly welcoming and encouraging, and I saw this constantly with the way that she immediately led and encouraged others to do the same. Nothing is above her, and yet she knows her value and worth.

Grace, thank you for always being so positive and looking toward the solution. Thank you for making me laugh pretty much every time I see / talk with you, and thank you for being such a crucial part of the team throughout college. I’m so grateful to have you as a friend, and especially during those crazy years of sleepless nights and exciting adventures to see what would be possible on our stage. Thank you for being uniquely you.
