.154 Brian Tucker

Brian and I went to college together, however, our friendship really took off once we both settled in New York City. As soon as I arrived, Brian reached out and provided me with incredible solace and friendship, something I deeply appreciate since this city can feel quite lonely sometimes. Within less than a month of being here, Brian had generously taken me to a couple of Broadway shows, including a premiere on my birthday, which ended with me meeting one of my SNL idols.

It’s not hard to notice Brian’s big heart. He’s incredibly sweet and kind and it shows from the very first moment that you’re around him. He has this comforting pace about him that makes you live in the moment, much like he does, and he listens intently and acutely, making you feel special and cared for. His intelligence and memory for all-things theater is out of this world and makes for wonderful conversation every time. His laugh is very contagious, along with his positive energy, and he’s just great company to be around. I’m grateful to have him in this chaotic city and to have shared as many lovely moments as we have.

Brian, thank you for being such a compassionate human being who has the best interest in mind with everything that you do. Thank you for your generosity and friendship, from all the wine chats at your apartment to the incredible Wicked tour a few years ago. Thank you for making me laugh and thank you for being honest with me — I love that you’re not afraid to challenge me or disagree. Thank you, Brian, for being you.
