.161 Wezzy Patterson

In so many ways, Wezzy is like a second mother to me. Whether it was the pancake breakfasts at her house during high school, the table topic cards that made everyone (except me!) groan, or her uniquely-Wezzy catchphrases, she was always there to provide laughter, comfort, and love. Just her presence was enough to fill that house with such a warm and inviting feeling that I always looked forward to. There’s genuinely no one quite like Wezzy.

Her support meant the world to me in high school and now as I get older, I look back on that unconditional love with even more appreciation. Wezzy is incredibly resilient, compassionate, strong, and brave. She raised three out-of-this-world kids who are some of the best people I know. Her laughter was always enough to make me laugh and I could never get enough of her stories and anecdotes. She’s so generous with her time and her energy and sets the example on how to be selfless and live a life that is built around love and good company. An hour spent around Wezzy is an hour well-spent.

Wezzy, thank you so much for your wonderful sense of humor and your deeply kind character. Thank you for setting the world record on number and quality of Christmas decorations in one house and thank you for always being so welcoming to me. Thank you for being so tough in the face of many difficult challenges and obstacles and thank you for raising three such incredible human beings. Thank you for making me smile with your adoration of dogs and human connection and thank you for just being such a positive ray of light in this world. The world needs more Wezzy! Thank you so much, Wezzy, for just being who you are.
