.217 Zach Kahn

Zach is truly a needle in a haystack when it comes to his unmatched levels of intelligence, eloquence, and ability to connect with anyone, anywhere. Speaking to him today was a stark reminder of how lucky I am to have him in my life. He’s an incredible force of brainpower and empathetic encouragement and the world is a better place not only because he’s in it, but also through how he’s shaping it.

Uniquely kind and insatiably curious, Zach constantly inspires me with his unwavering diligence and willingness to work hard. He’s so clearly dedicated to learning and is an expert at inviting those around him in on the process. His energy brings out the best in people and he’s a genuine joy to be around — no conversation is too large or too small in topic, and no question is something he’s unwilling to look into. Perhaps the characteristic that impresses me most, however, is Zach’s generosity. He’s so intentional and willing to lend his support, his time and his heart to those that he cares about, and it’s something I will always be in awe of.

On top of all of this, Zach is deeply honest, straightforward and real. Just in my own experience, he’s provided me with incredibly helpful feedback that, much like a muscle, has allowed for me to break down an idea and build it back better and stronger over time. That sense of encouragement and approachability he has is so specific to him and I am forever grateful to have his mind and support as part of my life.

Zach, thank you for being such a shining example of what it means to be a gentleman, a leader, and a good human being. Thank you for being a part of the TEDx team and for always pushing me and those around you to be better. You are the epitome of walking the walk and we all are better off by watching you move through life with your tenacious spirit and work ethic. Thank you for being a dear friend and thank you, above all, for being you.
