.284 | to Sean, from Kayla
Throughout the seven years at the company I work for (where I started right after graduation), I have had 8 counselors (in the consulting world it’s essentially the person who helps provide guidance on your career and represents you during yearend reviews). Sean was my 7th counselor and was one of the first that made time to listen and not just check the boxes required at yearend.
While he is no longer with the company, I want to thank him for everything he helped me with in the short time that he was my counselor. During that time I had a lot of concerns about where my career was headed and I didn’t know what types of experiences I wanted to go after. Instead of just asking how I was doing and moving on, he took the time to listen to my problems. He asked questions to help guide me into diving deeper instead of just giving me answers or brushing off my concerns. He was always available to talk when I was in a situation I didn’t know how to handle. He also took the extra time to share learning and other articles to help me continue to grow.
