.355 | to Daniel Reitz, from Jeannie Chufo
Mr. Daniel Reitz is a real steward of goodness. I met Daniel three years ago as I made my way to San Dieguito Academy. Reitz is my colleague, my fellow Englishy partner in crime and I want the universe to know that I have tremendous gratitude to the room allocation gods who placed us rather accidentally in the same hallway. Quite simply: He is superb and I am a better teacher for it.
We have hallway rules. Faux bows are in play, walkie talkies squawk back and forth while in class. But mostly I cherish the honest philosophical discussion around how to live in the question (Rilke would approve) that might just be the key to real teaching, learning and understanding. In this moment I would like to pause and say that this father of three dad plus one is the reason good people are graduating high school to fly off and think for themselves. Thank you, Daniel, for all that good honest work. Thank you for keeping the questions rolling and the curiosity alive. P.S. You get the badge.
