.126 Meghan Kenny
Just across the hall from me when I worked at The Met, sitting in a quite a makeshift office space, was the uniquely charming and talented Meghan Kenny. From day one of meeting her I knew we’d get along, but what I didn’t realize was how crucial she would become as a dose of calmness and sanity whenever I saw her. I would normally catch her as she was running to snag the elevator, en route to handling her next big event, but she would always make the time to ask how I was doing, give me a smile, and remind me with her presence that things would be okay.
Meghan genuinely was a true joy to see around the museum. To see how hard she worked coupled with her ability to match that tenacity with the kindness she showed toward every colleague was inspiring. She’s incredibly patient and eloquent in her thoughts and ideas and she makes an effort to ensure all folks are listened to. In a place that fosters all sorts of different personas and personalities, Meghan was always her true self, which was a colleague and human being built on compassion, hard work, and a diligent focus on quality.
Meghan, thank you so much for being such a refreshing face to see and such a kind soul. Thank you for always making me laugh and for reminding me to breathe. Thank you for giving me such joy whenever you’d visit our office/my desk and just give me a glance that was enough to make me laugh and feel better. Thank you for being so hardworking, ambitious and honest. I’m so grateful to have crossed paths with you and am even more grateful to call you a friend. Thank you, Meghan, for being you.
