.127 Kimberley Gordy
When I was a summer worker at GW’s Office of Admissions, Kim was a Senior Assistant Director there, consistently and seemingly effortlessly doing more than what was asked of her and treating everyone with deep respect in the process. As I mentioned to her the other day, Kim is an incredibly present and calming person who leads with a listening ear. I truly felt more at ease when I spoke with her, and she was always willing to help or answer my (many) questions.
Over the course of that summer and in the years that have followed, I was and still am inspired by Kim’s diligence and drive with her goals and success, despite what chaos life brought and may continue to bring. Kim is wonderful at balancing the pillars of her life and exudes such a deep care for her friends and family that is so clear to see. In turn, it reminds me to try and do the same, which is one of many reasons why I am so grateful to her. Kim continues to be an example in my eyes of dignity, beauty and love, and I am certain that rings true for so many others.
Kim, thank you for being such a supportive figure during that summer and even now to this day. Thank you for always making me laugh, for your honesty, and for your important perspective. Thank you for being such a positive and fully focused individual who once again reminds me to try and be the same. I’m very grateful we crossed paths and that you’re still in my life. Thank you, Kim, for being you!
