.132 Bridgette Behling

“With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.” This quote comes from a wonderful poem named Desiderata, a poem that I saw framed in Bridgette’s office back in DC. I had already admired her tenacity, confidence and empathy, but when I saw the framed poem, one that my sister introduced me to, it was the cherry on top. Bridgette embodies this idea of hope and care in a world that is often tough and messy. As a student, getting to work with and learn from her was a privilege.

Bridgette really does set the example in my eyes in terms of staying true to your morals and values, even if it means tough choices, challenges and hard work. She is incredibly diligent and spends her time helping as many students as she can with as much quality as she can provide. Somehow she manages to do not only that but also be a mother to two kids, both of whom are truly lucky to have her as a deeply compassionate figure and role model in their lives. Her thoughtfulness and kindness are at the forefront of every conversation she has and I’m genuinely grateful to have crossed paths with her.

Bridgette, thank you for being such a wonderful leader and altogether human being. Thank you for being so honest and ambitious in your life and for treating others kindly along the way. Thank you for setting up so many students (including myself) for growth and success. Thank you as well for always taking the time to truly listen and collect all the details; it’s noticed and appreciated. Thank you, Bridgette, for being you.
