.013 Nathan Miller
It’s hard to put words to the impact that Nathan has had in my life. Nathan came into my life spontaneously, quickly, and at an extremely crucial time. He was an immediate confidante for me when I was desperately in need of the comfort and solace of a listening ear. More than just a listener, Nathan provided a window into what a truly good human being is, again at a time when I needed it most.
Nathan has a way of making you feel special, like you’re the only one in a crowded room. He pays attention, cares about you and anything you have to say, and has his own wealth of experience, knowledge and intelligence that makes for riveting, excellent and deep conversations. His empathy shines through at every moment, always kind and caring with his words and actions. In a world that seems to spin chaotically faster and faster, Nathan slows it down and in his own way reminds you to relax, take a breath, and enjoy the moment.
Nathan, I am endlessly grateful for you. Your presence in my life has genuinely made it better. You gave me safety when the world was scary, and you gave me laughs when I thought I couldn’t. Thank you for always being such a joy to talk to, listen to, and be around. Thank you for fielding with grace my onslaught of questions that usually have to do with just about, well, everything. Thank you for your patience and respect, especially given the fact that I was all over the place and put you in tough situations, particularly mentally. Thank you for your unwavering support and compassion to me and everyone else that you cross paths with. Thank you for being such an effortlessly modest person, who with a resume and life like yours, could brag at any moment. Thank you for constantly reminding me that good people exist and prevail.
This project is deeply (and literally) about gratitude, and I can’t emphasize enough how deeply I feel that for you. I’m so grateful for all that you are. Thank you for being a bright light and for continuing to be a crucial part of my life. Thank you for jumping on the phone and picking up where we left off so easily. Thank you for putting me at ease. Thank you for being you.
