.034 Margaret Choo
In a world that seems increasingly manic and sporadic, Margaret is clearly the antidote. Her calm presence and level-headed mindset is what struck me instantly upon meeting her when I worked at The Met. She matches this with a gentle and compassionate smile, which was always uplifting on the most stressful of days. Margaret is incredibly intelligent, always thinking up a smarter and more efficient solution to any problem. She also does all of the challenging work that does without ever really asking for recognition, which is wild to me considering how much of a role she played with large, strategic, museum-altering programs and ideas.
Inside, but also outside of the museum, Margaret is truly kind. She’s so sweet and empathetic, and can always make me cackle with a good line and quip about the newest challenge we’re facing or chaos of the world. She’s an expert (and I mean EXPERT) at baking (go follow her YT channel!) and the cherry on top is that she’s generous with what she makes! Many times was I able to taste the deliciousness and creativity of her baked goods. She’s got such a lovely sense of humor, doesn’t take life too seriously, and puts her passion and dedication into everything that she does.
Margaret, thank you for making my time at the museum that much sweeter. Thank you for your patience, your help (especially with the instagram that one fateful day…) and for being such a role model in the office and beyond. Thank you for always having a cheerful addition that adds to the solution and not the problem. Thank you for your beautiful personality and for being a friend. Thank you for always laughing at my silly jokes and for just being a fantastic face you’d want to see each day at the office. Thank you for being you.
