.152 Cloe Shasha Brooks

No matter the TED conference or office space, Cloe is unmistakeable; and it’s not just because of her hair! She stands out for a myriad of reasons, from her staggering intelligence and deep compassion to her joyful laugh and welcoming energy. She is one of the most present people I’ve met, always in the moment yet always five steps ahead as well. Cloe is a true treasure and I’m grateful to have witnessed her magic when we worked together a few years ago.

We technically first met when I interned on the content team, but even before that started I shadowed her at a TED conference, meaning I walked around in awe as she went about her duties. From that very first moment, Cloe was honest and open, encouraging me to ask questions but also to trust my gut and experience. She is exceptional at inviting you into the process and making space for voices and ideas that matter. Both inside and outside of work, she’s a delight of a human being. She’s smart, kind, and has a fabulous sense of humor and curiosity. I learned so much just from watching Cloe work and seeing how she treats everyone with such dignity, respect and empathy. Cloe so clearly lives such a full life and her smile and pride ripple further everyday. She’s a gem and anyone who crosses paths with her sees how special she is in an instant.

Cloe, thank you for being such a joy to work with and for always being supportive of me, my ideas, and my journey. Thank you for being such a wonderful listener and for being a true leader. Thank you for inspiring those around you through the genuine care you show to all those in your life, and thank you for the joy and positivity you bring to all that you do. Thank you for your courage and strength, and thank you for being a friend that I deeply appreciate and admire. Thank you, Cloe, for being you.
