.151 Rob Todaro

I don’t quite remember the exact moment Rob and I met, but I do remember being instantly impressed by him. Rob is super intelligent and smart in a way that invites you into substantive and exciting dialogue. He’s straightforward and kind, connected and compassionate. In college, I found myself constantly in awe of his capacity to work on so many projects and initiatives at once while simultaneously building what are so clearly unique and strong friendships with those around him.

Rob also stands out to me for his tenacious drive when it comes to LGBT equality. He’s not afraid to stand up for what’s right and he’s not afraid of honesty as a tool for progress and empathetic discussion. Seeing him around campus was always a wonderful experience in terms of conversation, but also just in seeing another successful and proud gay man doing what he can to change the world for the better.

Rob, thank you for the impact you’ve had on my life and those of so many others. Thank you for your whip smart brain and for your sense of humor. Thank you for your incredible strength and bravery and for setting an example when it comes to perseverance by just your existence. Thank you again for taking the time to chat yesterday, and thank you, Rob, for just being you.
