.206 Randy Grey
I don’t remember the exact moment Randy and I met, but I do remember instantly feeling that I had found a friend and someone who was looking out for me. This comfort was crucial considering I was just starting my freshman year of college, and Randy’s presence, contagious laugh and hilarious sense of humor all became things that I looked forward to being around.
Randy is simultaneously witty and incredibly sincere with every interaction. He’s wonderfully honest and open about everything — the good, and the struggles — and it’s that sense of realness that makes me appreciate each time we talk or spend time together. He challenges me, knows how to humble me, and can always make me laugh. Our fraternity family is something that really got me through tough times in college, and Randy was certainly a part of that, as well as some incredibly fun times, some of which I have trouble remembering… :) Perhaps above all is Randy’s kindness. He’s just compassionate to each person around him and it rubs off on those in his life, including myself.
Randy, thank you for your bright mind and for always making me feel cared for, especially when we both were in DC. Thank you for our wonderful times of getting drinks when you were still here in NYC, and thank you for truly always cracking me up and for listening to my own wild and silly stories. Thank you for being such a good friend and mentor, and thank you for being such a good friend to so many others as well. Thank you, Randy, for being you.
