.207 Barbara Zaugg
When I was just 5 years old, I moved to the street that would really become my home. Barbara was one of the first of our neighbors that I was able to meet, and it didn’t take long for me to see her as family. She has palpable positive energy and it’s her comforting and approachable personality that make her such a pleasure to be around.
Growing up, I always loved chatting with Barbara by the mailbox when I would play basketball. She would always listen and be supportive, and her laugh was always enough to get me laughing as well. One of my favorite things about Barbara is how wonderful of a friend she is to my parents. She makes them so happy and is such a loyal, fun, smart, and compassionate person in their lives, and she’s been especially crucial over this last year for them. On top of all of this, Barbara has been a loving supporter of me and Alejandro, and I have adored getting to know the Mexican culture through her over the years, and now through both of them together.
Barbara, thank you so much for being such a strong and vibrant woman and for cheering me on for the past 20+ years! Thank you for your fabulous stories, your contagious laugh, and for always being honest and thoughtful. Thank you for so many wonderful memories, from block parties at the end of the street to Super Bowl watch parties at your house. Thank you for being such a big part of our family and for always showing us kindness and love. Thank you, Barbara, for being you.
