.052 Taylor Steimle
When Taylor started as an intern at TED, I first remember noticing how open and dedicated he was to learning. Anything and everything was thrown at him, and he handled it all with kindness and a determination to get things done with efficiency and quality. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Taylor is also just a fabulously fun, smart and joyful person to be around. His ability to genuinely listen to you, intently and directly, is something that he does with everyone, which adds to his already incredibly respectful and compassionate attitude and personality.
We met at a time when both of us were fairly new to New York City. When I was feeling overwhelmed or swallowed up by the city, Taylor would (without knowing) give me that breath of honest and eager fresh air. He’s so unassuming and positive with his outlook and approach on life, which carries over into all of his interactions and moments throughout the day. Working with him was a true delight, but getting to know him and becoming friends outside of work has been even better. He surrounds himself with an eclectic group of friends, all of whom gush over how much they adore him. Taylor is just a truly good, stylish, smart passionate and full-of-potential human being.
Taylor, thank you so much for being who you are. Thank you for making my life easier as a team member at TED, and thank you for always making me laugh and for laughing at my mostly ridiculous jokes and stories. Thank you for your lovely smile and energy, and for your constant ability to turn things around. I’m so grateful to know you and have you as a friend in my life, and I’m of course grateful to see you at all the Bob’s Uncle functions (hoping for one soon!). I’m so proud of who you are/have become and where you’re headed, even in the midst of shitty world and pandemic. Thank you for being so kind, always. Thank you for being you.
