.175 Doug Arbetter
When I first met Doug back in DC at GW, I was first struck by how kind he is. His voice and his actions seem to always be driven by this innate practice of kindness, and that made every moment with him so wonderful. Adding to his compassion is his highly contagious giggle and laugh, which always triggered me to do the same.
Doug and I really spent a lot of time getting to know each other during our crossover through the Admissions office. I was able to witness how smart he is and how that intelligence is just another layer on an already incredibly talented human being. Doug was always open and honest with me, which inspired me to do the same. He’s a wonderful listener and makes you feel truly special when you’re talking to each other. I have so many memories of feeling more joyful and lighter following a conversation or full day of talking with Doug.
Doug, thank you for being so sweet and caring to those in your life. Thank you for being such a beautiful person, inside and out, and for being so gentle in your approach. Thank you for being a dear and loyal friend and confidante. Thank you, Doug, for being you.
